William Hickey (September 19, 1927 - June 29, 1997) was an American actor who appeared as alleged Nazi war criminal Hans Kozak in the episode "Victims of Circumstance" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

Hickey began his career in television, debuting in a 1957 episode of the series Decoy, other TV appearances include The Defenders, Ryan's Hope, One Life to Live, The Equalizer (with Vincent D'Onofrio and Miguel Piñero), Moonlighting (with Bruce Willis), Crime Story (with Dennis Farina, Bill Smitrovich, and John Santucci), Wings (with David Schramm), and his final TV appearance, in The Wright Verdicts (with Steve Ryan).


His movie career also began in 1957, debuting in the film A Hatful of Rain, other appearances include The Producers, The Sentinel (with Sylvia Miles), Prizzi's Honor (with C.C.H. Pounder), Seize The Day (with Katherine Borowitz), Pink Cadillac (with Timothy Carhart, Michael Des Barres, and Jimmie F. Skaggs), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (with Sam McMurray), Major Payne (with Albert Hall), Mousehunt (with Nathan Lane and Annabelle Gurwitch), Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (with Steve Buscemi, David Johansen and James Remar) and his final movie role in Knocking on Death's Door.

Hickey died of complications from emphysema on June 29, 1997, in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 69.
