"Wagon Train from Red River is a song by Dimitri Tiomkin, recorded for the film Red River in 1948 and featured on the film's soundtrack album. It appeared in the Miami Vice episode "The Cows of October".
Notes[]
- This tune would appear again, with different lyrics, in the John Wayne/Dean Martin classic 1959 western Rio Bravo, as the song "My Rifle, My Pony, and Me", sung by Martin and Ricky Nelson. Rio Bravo, like Red River, was directed by Howard Hawks.
- The song appears over the opening credits to the movie, but is not considered the movie's theme.
- The soundtrack to Red River was not actually released until 2005, some 57 years after the film was made.
