Val Bisoglio (May 7, 1926 - October 18, 2021) was an American actor, who appeared as Gus Albierro, a career criminal and former member of Frank Hackman's gang in the episode "Forgive Us Our Debts" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

Bisoglio's best known roles are as Frank Manero Sr., father of John Travolta's character Tony Manero in the 1977 movie Saturday Night Fever (with Denny Dillon and Julie Bovasso), and as Danny Tovo, good friend of Dr. Quincy and owner of Danny's, a restaurant/bar where Quincy and the police frequently gathered in the series Quincy, M.E. (from 1976-83).

Some of his other movie roles include The Cool World (debut in 1964, with Clarence Williams III), The Brotherhood (with Barry Primus), The Don Is Dead (with Joe Santos), and his most recent film appearance, 1999's Diamonds.

TV is where Bisoglio has appeared the most, beginning with The Edge of Night, followed by Hawk, Bonanza, All in the Family, Mannix, Toma, Kojak, Ironside, Police Woman, Starsky and Hutch (with David Soul, Paul Michael Glaser, and Antonio Fargas), Galactica 1980, Life Goes On (with Bill Smitrovich), and his most recent role, in The Sopranos (with Tony Sirico).

Bisoglio died from undisclosed causes on October 21, 2021 in Los Olivos, California at the age of 95, according to his widow, Bonnie.
