The Silencers are a Scottish new wave/rock band whose song "God's Gift" appeared in the episode "Indian Wars" of the series Miami Vice.

The band was formed in 1986 by two former members of the Scottish punk band Fingerprintz, Jimme O'Neill and Cha Burns. They brought in Martin Hanlin and Joseph Donnelly (a cousin of Simple Minds lead singer Jim Kerr) and began touring the UK and Europe. They also toured the US and were brought on board the Pretenders UK tour in 1988. The band's first album, A Letter from St. Paul (featuring "Painted Moon", their first UK charted single and "God's Gift") was released. The band released a total of ten albums between 1990-2008 (none of which charted in the US), went through several membership changes, including the death of Burns in 2007, and still tour mainly in Europe, but have not recorded any new material since 2008.
