"The Glamorous Life" is a song by Sheila E., featured on the album The Glamorous Life in 1984 and released as a single in June of that year. It appeared in the Miami Vice episode "The Home Invaders".
Notes[]
- The song was included on the US edition of the soundtrack album The Best of Miami Vice in 2006.
- Sheila E. and Prince (writer of "The Glamorous Life" and with whom she had a brief relationship) were both in the Billboard Top 10 at the same time when the song peaked at #7 (Prince's "Let's Go Crazy was at #2). They worked together on the tour to promote Prince's movie Purple Rain (starring Clarence Williams III from "Tale of the Goat").
- This was Sheila E.'s only Top 10 appearance. Her father is Pete Escovedo, who played with Carlos Santana in his band.
