The Bobbettes were an all-girl R&B group whose song "Mr. Lee" appeared in the episode "Golden Triangle (Part II)" of the show Miami Vice.
Career[]
The Bobbettes were formed in 1955, meeting each other singing in the Glee Club at their Harlem high school. They were signed to a record deal after an amateur night performance at the Apollo Theater. Their only Top 10 single, "Mr. Lee", was released in 1957, making the group the first all-female group to reach so far. After several more singles, the group disbanded in 1974.
