The Best of Miami Vice is a 2006 soundtrack album containing music from the television series Miami Vice.
The US and European releases of the album featured different track listings and cover art. The US edition features a selection of popular and score music taken from the first three seasons of the show, while the European edition contains music from seasons 1-4.
Notes
- This is one of no less than five Miami Vice soundtrack albums released with the title The Best of Miami Vice, with others released in 1989, 1994, 1996 and 2004.
- Despite their inclusion on the European release of the album, "Send It to Me" by Gladys Knight & The Pips and "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson never actually appeared in Miami Vice. Both were, however, previously included on other Miami Vice soundtrack albums.
- Glenn Frey's "You Belong to the City", Andy Taylor's "When the Rain Comes Down" and Patti LaBelle & Bill Champlin's "The Last Unbroken Heart" were written exclusively for the show and have only ever appeared on its soundtrack albums, although the former two were released as singles in 1985 and 1986, respectively.
