Susan Hess Loegais (born July 10, 1958) is an American actress, producer and writer, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Margaret, an "information gatherer" for Frank Sacco (played by James Russo) and J.J. Johnston (played by Julian Beck) as well as a love interest to Crockett in the episode "The Prodigal Son".


Hess was born in Seattle, Washington. In her teens, Hess was a ballerina in the San Francisco Ballet, then in 1978 went to Europe to become a fashion model, gracing the covers of Elle, Vogue and Marie Claire, modeling designs by Valentino & Versace, and the face of Karl Lagerfield perfume. Six years later, she left the catwalks and photoshoots for acting, making her film debut in the TV movies Threesome, Dress Gray, and Angel of Death, the mini-series If Tomorrow Comes (with Liam Neeson), and an episode of Spenser: For Hire. Hess left acting to go behind the camera as a screenwriter, started her own film company, made a series of short films, then produced and wrote the 2009 film Not Dead Yet, then returned to acting in the 2012 film Gone and in 2012 episodes of the series' Leverage and Grimm.

Personal Life

Hess married Olivier Loegais in 1992 and has two children.
