Steven Keats (February 6, 1945 - May 8, 1994) was an American actor who appeared as Jack Rivers, former employee of mob boss Frank Mosca turned informant in the episode "Contempt of Court" of the series Miami Vice.
Career[]
Keats began his career with his debut in the movie The Friends of Eddie Coyle (with Matthew Cowles, James Tolkan, and Joe Santos), followed by appearances in Death Wish, The Gambler (with Jacqueline Brookes and Burt Young), The Gumball Rally (with Lazaro Perez), Black Sunday (with Walter Gotell), Turk 182! (with Tolkan and Norman Parker), and his final movie role, in 1989's Eternity (with Frankie Valli and John P. Ryan).
Keats' TV career began on the 1973 series Griff, other series appearances include Kojak, The Streets of San Francisco (with Santos), The Rookies (with Georg Stanford Brown), Starsky and Hutch (with Paul Michael Glaser, David Soul, and Antonio Fargas), the mini-series Seventh Avenue (for which he received an Emmy nomination), Quincy, M.E. (with Val Bisoglio), The A-Team (with Kevyn Major Howard), T.J. Hooker (with Ismael "East" Carlo), Moonlighting (with Bruce Willis), Life Goes On (with Bill Smitrovich), Law and Order, New York Undercover (with Michael DeLorenzo, Patti D'Arbanville, Clarence Williams III, and Jose Perez), and his final TV role, in the soap opera Another World.
Death[]
Keats was found dead in his New York City apartment on May 8, 1994, at the age of 49. His death was ruled a suicide. Keats was survived by his sons, Thatcher and Shane.
