Stephen Lawrence Winwood (born May 12, 1948) is a British singer-songwriter, whose songs "Still in the Game" (in "Trust Fund Pirates"), "There's a River" (from "Down for the Count (Part I)" and "A Bullet for Crockett"), and "Split Decision" (from "By Hooker by Crook" appeared in the series Miami Vice.
Career[]
Winwood began his career by joining the Spencer Davis Group in 1963, wrote and performed their hits "Gimme Some Lovin" and "I'm A Man" before moving on to be part of two other major groups, Blind Faith (with Eric Clapton) and Traffic, then began recording solo in 1977. releasing his self-titled debut album, followed by 1980's Arc of a Diver (featuring "When You See A Chance", 1982's Talking Back To The Night (featuring "Still in the Game" and "There's a River", along with the original version of "Valerie"), and 1986's Back In The High Life (featuring the title track with Joe Cocker on backup vocals, the #1 single "Higher Love", featuring Chaka Khan on backing vocals, and "Split Decision"), Roll With It from 1988 (featuring the #1 title track and "Holding On", then 1990's Refugees From The Heart, but by then his mainstream success began to fade, and he returned with former Traffic member Jim Capaldi to record a new Traffic album. He would record three more solo albums from 1990-2008, and still tours currently. Winwood was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of Traffic, in 2004.

Winwood married Nicole Weir in 1978 until their divorce in 1986 (died 2005), he then married Eugenia Crafton in 1987, they have four children.
