Steve Jones (born September 3, 1955, London, England) is an English guitarist and vocalist, whose song "Mercy" appeared in the episode "Stone's War" of the show Miami Vice.

Career

Jones began his career in the early 1970s with the band The Strand, which was a precursor to Jones' later band, The Sex Pistols, which he began in 1975 until their 1978 breakup, when Jones began performing on albums for Thin Lizzy, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Andy Taylor, and others, and was part of the band Chequered Past (with Michael Des Barres). He released his first solo album, Mercy (featuring the title track) in 1985, then his second, Fire and Gasoline, in 1989. In 1996 he formed Neurotic Outsiders, featuring John Taylor from Duran Duran, later playing guitar on Lisa Marie Presley's album Now What in 2005, and has participated in reunions of the Sex Pistols in 2007 and 2008.
