Stefan Gierasch (February 5, 1926 - September 6, 2014) was an American actor who appeared as Nazi war camp survivor Dr. Leo Krebbs in the episode "Victims of Circumstance" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

Gierasch began his career in the 1951 TV series Goodyear Playhouse, followed by roles in Mr. Peepers, The Defenders, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Untouchables, Kung Fu (with Keye Luke), Starsky and Hutch (with Paul Michael Glaser, David Soul, and Antonio Fargas), AES Hudson Street (with Rosana DeSoto and Gregory Sierra), M*A*S*H (with Xander Berkeley), Quincy, M.E. (with Val Bisoglio), Dark Shadows (with Ely Pouget), and his final TV appearance, in Brimstone (with John Glover and Jerry Hardin).


His movie appearances began with the 1957 movie The Young Don't Cry, later roles include The Hustler, What's Up Doc? (with Austin Pendleton), High Plains Drifter, Silver Streak, The Champ, Perfect, Spellbinder (with Anthony Crivello and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), Dave (with Ving Rhames), Murder in the First (with Kyra Sedgwick, Brad Dourif, and R. Lee Ermey), and his final movie appearance, The Hunter's Moon.

Personal Life/Death[]

Gierasch was married twice, first to Jane Churchman from 1963 until their 1978 divorce, they have one child, then married actress Hedy Sontag from 1981 until his death from a stroke on September 6, 2014 in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 89. They had one child.
