Shawn Elliott Santiago was a Puerto Rican actor and musician. He appeared in the show Miami Vice as an unnamed cousin to Pepe and Diego Moya that created the cocaine-packed Santeria statues in Colombia in the episode "Milk Run", and Orrestes Pedrosa, Cuban Revolution Guard soldier, romantic rival to Klaus Herzog (played by Jeroen Krabbe) over Elena Obregon, who Pedrosa killed rather than allow Herzog to have her, in the episode "Heroes of the Revolution".

Early Life/Career

Elliott was born in Puerto Rico. He began his career as a musician in 1976, releasing a disco album Mr. Love under the name Santiago. He then moved into acting and made his debut in 1977's Short Eyes (with Tito Goya, Luis Guzman & Miguel Piñero), then Beat Street (with Saundra Santiago), Crossover Dreams (with Ruben Blades), and Off Beat (with Cleavant Derricks, John Turturro, Julie Bovasso, and Penn Jillette), The Dead Pool (with Liam Neeson), Do The Right Thing (with John Turturro and Giancarlo Esposito), Impulse (with Jeff Fahey), Caught (with Edward James Olmos), Hurricane (with L.M. Kit Carson), Blue Moon (with Rita Moreno & Burt Young), Double Take (with Garcelle Beauvais), Arbitrage (with Larry Pine), and Broken City. On television, Elliott appeared in The Cosby Show, Hunter, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Hack, and his most recent appearance, in 2006's Kidnapped (with Mykelti Williamson).

Personal Life

Elliott married Donna Murphy in 1990 and have two children. Elliott has two older children from a previous relationship.
