Rick Marotta made his acting debut as a recording engineer helping Caitlin Davies record her album tracks in the episode "Like a Hurricane" of the series Miami Vice.
Career[]
Marotta is a session percussionist, who has worked with a multitude of music artists, including Aretha Franklin, John Lennon, Steely Dan, Jackson Browne, Randy Newman, Peter Gabriel, and many others, and performed in the 1978 movie FM with Linda Ronstadt. Recently he composed the theme and music for the comedy Everybody Loves Raymond.
Marotta has also delved into acting, appearing in the movies Cop, The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (with David Patrick Kelly, Sheila E., and Ed O'Neill, Dead Connection (with Michael Madsen and Julio Oscar Mechoso), and Showgirls, and the TV shows Yes, Dear and Son of the Beach.
