Michael Margotta (born 1946) is an American actor, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Tony Rivers, a drug distributor who supervises deals made through his girlfriend Sarah MacPhail (played by Kyra Sedgwick) in the episode "Phil the Shill".


Margotta was born in Pearl River, New York. He had an extensive career in movies and TV, making his film debut in 1968's Maryjane, other movie appearances include Wild in the Streets, The Strawberry Statement (with Bob Balaban), Drive, He Said (with Karen Black), Times Square (with Robin Johnson, Miguel Piñero, and J.C. Quinn), 9½ Weeks, and his last credited movie role, Third Person (with Liam Neeson). He also wrote and directed the movie Miss Julie in 2009.

His TV career began in 1968's The Outcasts, followed by I Dream of Jeannie, Death Valley Days (episode with Veronica Cartwright), The Mod Squad (with Clarence Williams III), Hawaii Five-O, The Streets of San Francisco (episode with Paul Michael Glaser), Kojak, Starsky & Hutch (with Glaser, David Soul, & Antonio Fargas), and his last credited TV role, in 1995's Law & Order. Margotta currently is the Artistic Director of The Actor's Center—ROMA.
