Michael Carmine (March 6, 1959 - October 14, 1989) was an American actor, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Snake, one of the wild punks (killed by Zito) in the episode "Nobody Lives Forever" and Mikey, the impressionistic actor, poet, and stealer of Don Gallego's (played by Paul Calderon) briefcase in the episode "Everybody's in Showbiz".
Career[]
Carmine was born in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from the High School for the Performing Arts in 1975, then moved to the California Institute for the Arts. His first role was as an extra in the 1977 movie Rollercoaster. His first film appearance was in an episode of Hill Street Blues in 1982. He then appeared on M*A*S*H, Crime Story (with Dennis Farina), and his final TV appearance, in 1988's Tour of Duty. His brief movie career began in Invasion U.S.A. (with Jaime L. Sanchez), Band of the Hand (directed by Paul Michael Glaser, produced by Michael Mann, and including James Remar, Al Shannon, and Laurence Fishburne), *batteries not included, Leviathan, and his final film role in Longtime Companion, released nearly a year after his death. He also starred on Broadway in Reinaldo Povod's "Cuba and His Teddy Bear" with Robert De Niro, Burt Young, and Ralph Macchio.
Personal life[]
Carmine died tragically of AIDS on October 14, 1989 at the age of 30. He has two brothers.
