"Mercy Street" is a song by Peter Gabriel, featured on the album So in 1986. It appeared in the Miami Vice episode "Killshot".
Notes[]
- "Mercy Street" is the second of five songs from Peter Gabriel's album So to appear in Miami Vice -- the others being "Red Rain", "Sledgehammer", "We Do What We're Told" and "Don't Give Up". This makes it one of the most heavily represented albums in the entire series.
- The song is dedicated to the poet Anne Sexton (1928-1974), and the title refers to the play she wrote in 1969, and her poetry was considered the modern version of Confessionalism. Sexton committed suicide in 1974.
