Karla Bonoff (born December 27, 1951, Santa Monica, California) is an American songwriter-singer whose song "Cold Wind Blows" appeared in the episode "Bought and Paid For" of the show Miami Vice.

Career[]

Bonoff's career began around 1976, when she began writing songs for Linda Ronstadt, then the next year she released her own album, Karla Bonoff. She released four more albums between 1977-1999, but is best known for her single "Personally", which was her only Billboard Top 40 single, reaching #19 in 1982. She also performed the track "Somebody's Eyes" on the Footloose soundtrack and Standing Right Next To Me on the 8 Seconds soundtrack. Her songs have been covered by Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd and Lynn Anderson, and she wrote and sung "Cold Wind Blows" especially for Vice. Bonoff continues to do limited tours today.
