Jon Polito (December 29, 1950 - September 1, 2016) was an American character actor who appeared as Ernesto "El Gato" Manolo, rival to the Carrera drug cartel in the episodes "Hostile Takeover" and "Redemption in Blood" of the series Miami Vice.

Polito had appeared in nearly 200 films and TV shows, including the movies Gangster Wars (his debut), C.H.U.D. (with Kim Griest, John Heard, Sam McMurray, and J.C. Quinn), Homeboy (with Debra Feuer, Kevin Conway and Ruben Blades), Miller's Crossing (with John Turturro, Steve Buscemi, and Olek Krupa), Stuart Little (with Nathan Lane), The Big Lebowski, The Honeymooners (with John Leguizamo), Atlas Shrugged: Part I (with Jsu Garcia), Gangster Squad, and his final film, The Maestro (with Xander Berkeley, Lenny Von Dohlen, and William Russ), due in 2017.

His TV appearances include the TV movies The Gangster Chronicles (his TV debut) and Death of a Salesman (with Tom Signorelli), and the series Crime Story (with Dennis Farina, Bill Smitrovich, and John Santucci), Homicide: Life on the Street (with Richard Belzer), New York Undercover (with Patti D'Arbanville and Michael DeLorenzo), Seinfeld (with Michael Richards), Nash Bridges (with Don Johnson), L.A. Polito was in a relationship with his partner Darryl Armbruster from 2000 until Polito's death on September 1, 2016, in Duarte, California from cancer (multiple myeloma) at the age of 65.
