Joel Surnow (born December 18, 1955) is an American TV writer, producer, and show creator, who wrote the Miami Vice episodes "Cool Runnin'", "Calderone's Return (Part I)", "Calderone's Return (Part II)" (co-writer), "The Great McCarthy", "Little Prince", "Made for Each Other", "Lombard", and "Out Where the Buses Don't Run" as well as serving as executive story consultant for Vice's first season and part of the second season.
