James Tomio Saito (born March 6, 1955) is an American actor who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Howie Wong, a Thai restaurant employee who worked with the grandsons of General Lao Li for a drug deal in the episode "Golden Triangle (Part II)" and Ma Sek, husband of Martin "Marty" Castillo's ex-wife May Ying in 1988 in the episode "Heart of Night".

Career[]

Saito was born in Los Angeles, California. His career began in 1976 in the TV movie Farewell to Manzanar, followed by roles in Baa Baa Black Sheep, Lou Grant, The Waltons, Soap (with Gregory Sierra), Lobo (with Rosalind Chao), M*A*S*H, MacGyver (in the episode "Golden Triangle" with Joan Chen and Keye Luke), New York Undercover (with Patti D'Arbanville and Michael DeLorenzo), Sex and the City, Law and Order, regular roles in the series Eli Stone and the soap opera One Life To Live, The Unit, House of Cards, Elementary (with Tony Plana), and his upcoming appearance in the 2019 series The Terror (with George Takei).

His movie debut was in 1980's The Idolmaker (with Ray Sharkey), followed by roles in Hot Dog...The Movie, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai... (with Pepe Serna and Vincent Schiavelli), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Die Hard With A Vengenance (with Bruce Willis), The Devil's Advocate (with Vyto Ruginis), Pearl Harbor, Ghosts of the Heartland (with Michael Santoro), While We're Young (with Ben Stiller), and his most recent movie appearance, 2017's The Only Living Boy in New York.
