William James Remar (born December 31, 1953) is an American actor, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Robbie Cann(ata), friend of James "Sonny" Crockett and son of mobster Johnny Cannata (played by Tom Signorelli) in the episode "Buddies".
Career[]
Remar was born in Boston, Massachusetts. His acting career has mainly consisted of playing villains, and began in 1978 with a TV appearance on The Incredible Hulk, then in the movies with On The Yard (with J.C. Quinn & John Heard), his role as Ajax in the cult classic The Warriors (with David Patrick Kelly), followed by roles in Cruising (with Ed O'Neill, William Russ, and Jimmie Ray Weeks), 48 Hrs. (with Olivia Brown, Brion James, David Patrick Kelly, Sonny Landham and Jack Thibeau), The Cotton Club (with Laurence Fishburne, Lonette McKee, Joe Dallesandro, James Russo, & Bruce Macvittie), The Dream Team (with Brad Sullivan), Fatal Instinct (with Eartha Kitt), Judge Dredd (with Joan Chen), The Phantom (with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa & Bill Smitrovich), Psycho (with Phillip Baker Hall and Viggo Mortensen), Rites of Passage (with Dean Stockwell, Dying on the Edge (with Robert Trebor), Ratatouille, Red (with Bruce Willis), X-Men: First Class (with Oliver Platt), Django: Unchained (with Jamie Foxx), Persecuted (with Dean Stockwell), Lap Dance (with Lynn Whitfield), and his most recent movie appearance, 2018's Speed Kills.
