Ian David McShane (born September 29, 1942, Blackburn, England) is an English actor who appeared as drug dealer Esteban Montoya in the episode "Knock, Knock... Who's There?", and General Manuel Borbon, dictator of Costa Morada in the episode "Freefall" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

McShane began his career in British television, appearing in a number of series and movies, before making his American debut in the 1975 movie Journey Into Fear and his TV debut in an episode of Matt Helm. His other TV shows include Space: 1999, the mini-series' Roots, Jesus of Nazareth, and War and Remembrance, Magnum, P.I., Dallas, Deadwood (with Brad Dourif, for which McShane won a Golden Globe and received an Emmy nomination), Kings, American Horror Story, Ray Donovan, and American Gods.

His movie appearances include The Fifth Musketeer, followed by Exposed (with James Russo), Agent Cody Banks, We Are Marshall (with David Strathairn), Shrek The Third, Kung Fu Panda, Death Race, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Jack The Giant Slayer (with Stanley Tucci), John Wick and its' sequels, John Wick: Chapter 2 (with John Leguizamo and David Patrick Kelly--both), John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum, and Chapter 4 (Chapter 4 is his most recent movie appearance, with Laurence Fishburne--Parts 2-4), Pottersville (with Ron Perlman).

Personal Life[]

McShane's father was Harry Mcshane, a famous football (soccer) player in Scotland. McShane married three times, to Suzan Farmer from 1965 until their 1968 divorce, then in 1970 married Ruth Post until their 1976 divorce, they have two children; Kate (born 1971) and Morgan (born 1975), in 1980 he married actress Gwen Humble (JAG, Absolutely Fabulous).
