Helena Bonham Carter, CBE (born May 26, 1966, London, England) is an English actress who appeared as Dr. Theresa Lyons, a drug-addicted ER physician who falls in love with James "Sonny" Crockett in the episodes "Duty and Honor" and "Theresa" of the series Miami Vice.

Career

Bonham Carter began her career in an obscure 1983 TV film A Pattern of Roses, most of her other TV credits were for UK shows. Her movie credits are extensive, including A Room with a View, Lady Jane, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Wings of the Dove (for which Bonham Carter was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar), Fight Club (with Meat Loaf and Zach Grenier), Planet of the Apes (with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, her first collaboration with Tim Burton), Big Fish (with Steve Buscemi), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and as Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter series starting with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Bonham Carter was nominated for her second Oscar (Best Supporting Actress) for her role in the 2010 movie The King's Speech. In 2015 Bonham Carter appeared in the live-action reboot of the Disney animated classic Cinderella as well as Alice Through the Looking Glass, Ocean's Eight, and the Netflix series The Crown.

Personal life

Bonham Carter was involved with actor Kenneth Branagh (Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Theory of Flight, and 2015's Cinderella) from 1994-1999, after which she began a long-term relationship with director Tim Burton, whom she met while filming Planet of the Apes in 2001. They have two children; Billy Raymond (born 2003) and Nell (born 2007), but their relationship ended in December, 2014. In 2012 Queen Elizabeth II made Bonham Carter a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her services to drama.
