Early life/Career[]

Allende was born in Mexico City, Mexico, to a Mexican father and a Cuban mother. In the 1970s, he began his acting career in Spanish soap operas (telenovelas), and quickly became a teen idol in Latin America. He served as the host of the Mexican version of Star Search (called Buscando Estrellas) in the early 1980s. Later, he left Mexico for Hollywood and appeared on an American television series, Flamingo Road, as Julio Sanchez, lover to Morgan Fairchild's character. He also had a role in a short-lived sci-fi series, The Phoenix, two episodes of Hart to Hart (one with Gregory Sierra), and the movies, Heartbreaker (with Pepe Serna & Miguel Ferrer) and Murder In Three Acts (with Lisa Eichhorn).

After Vice, Allende appeared in the series Superboy before returning to his Latin roots, eventually moving to Puerto Rico in 2001. He wrote, produced, and starred in the movie Siempre te amare, then went back to doing telenovelas, and serving as co-host of the 2007, 2017 and 2018 Miss World pageants. He also took up a career in painting.
