Danny Tepper is a successful race car driver, driving a Porsche 962 Carrera owned by Marty Worthington. His father, Frank Tepper, is also a driver, and father and son occasionally race against each other, once in a parking garage on motorcycles (which Frank won) and the Miami Grand Prix (which he won). Before the running of the 1986 Miami Grand Prix, Danny's car was used by someone to pick up, later murder, prostitute Abigail "Florence Italy" Cook, and Danny (without a sound alibi) was immediately suspected in her death. Danny was forced to take Vice cops James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs to a cocktail party to try and locate other suspects but none were found, everyone else had sound alibis. Danny's wife Katie gave birth to a 9 pound 2 ounce baby boy named Danny Jr., then proceeded to prepare for the race. Later it is proved that Frank was the one who killed Florence, and Danny won the Grand Prix.
