Cowboy Junkies is a Canadian alternative country band featuring siblings Margo (vocals), Michael (guitar), and Peter Timmins (drums), and bassist Alan Anton. Their song "Misguided Angel" appeared in the episode "Victims of Circumstance" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

Cowboy Junkies were formed in 1986 and performed mainly in the Toronto-area club scene. Their 1986 debut album, Whites Off Earth Now!!, was mainly covers of classic blues/country tracks. Their second album, 1988's The Trinity Session, was well received internationally and featured "Misguided Angel", a cover of Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane", and covers of such country classics as "Walkin' After Midnight" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". Though the band had success with The Trinity Session, none of their albums since (15 since 1988) were hits outside the US, but the band has a loyal following in Canada and continues to tour throughout their native land.
