Christopher W. Cooper (born July 9, 1951, Kansas City, Missouri) is an Academy Award winning American actor who appeared as Broward County Detective (and Miguel Manolo informant) Jimmy Hagovitch in the episode "Mirror Image" of the series Miami Vice.

Career

Cooper began his acting career in the 1987 movie Matewan (with David Strathairn), Guilty by Suspicion (with Annette Bening, Brad Sullivan, and Barry Primus), Thousand Pieces of Gold (with Rosalind Chao and Jimmie F. Skaggs), A Time to Kill (with Oliver Platt and Charles S. Dutton), Breach (with Gary Cole), October Sky, American Beauty (with Bening), Me, Myself, and Irene (with Richard Jenkins), The Bourne Identity and its' sequel The Bourne Supremacy, Adaptation (for which Cooper won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor), The Tempest (with Alfred Molina and Strathairn), The Company You Keep (with Jenkins and Stanley Tucci), August: Osage County (with Julia Roberts), and Cars 3.


His TV career began in 1987 on an episode of The Equalizer (with Keith Szarabajka), followed by appearances in the series Lonesome Dove and the movie sequel Return to Lonesome Dove, Law and Order, The Corrections, and the mini-series 11.22.63.

Personal Life

Cooper married actress Marianne Leone (The Sopranos) in 1983, they have one son, Jesse Lanier (1987-2005), who was born three months premature and suffered from cerebral palsy (CP). Jesse died from complications from his CP in 2005, after which a memorial fund, The Jesse Cooper Foundation, was started.
