"Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)" is a song by Billy Ocean, featured on the album Suddenly in 1984 and released as a single that year. It appeared in the Miami Vice episode "The Prodigal Son".

Notes[]

  • "Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)" is the first song of Miami Vice's second season.
  • This was the first of three Billboard Top 10 hits for Billy Ocean from the Suddenly album ("Suddenly" and "Loverboy" are the others).
  • The song also appeared in the 2006 video game Scarface: The World Is Yours, which contains several obvious homages to Miami Vice (in particular its first and second season), including Crockett and Tubbs lookalikes that appear throughout the game, ironically as seemingly corrupt Vice Cops, and a yacht that heavily resembles the St. Vitus Dance. Both the movie Scarface and Miami Vice are considered by many to epitomise the style of the 1980s.
  • The song is one of several featured in Miami Vice that was performed at the iconic Live Aid event in 1985 -- Ocean played it at the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.
