Brion Howard James (February 20, 1945 - August 7, 1999) was an American character actor, mainly cast as heavies or evil characters. James appeared as intelligence operative Edward Reese in the episode "Borrasca" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

James had over 150 acting appearances to his credit. His overall debut came in a 1974 episode of The Waltons. Other TV appearances include in the series Gunsmoke (appearing in the overall pentimulate episode), The Rockford Files (with Joe Santos), Quincy, M.E. (with Val Bisoglio), Sledge Hammer! (with David Rasche), The Young Riders (with Melissa Leo), The Marshal (with Jeff Fahey), Milennium (with Terry O'Quinn), The Magnificent Seven (with Ron Perlman), and his final TV appearance, in a voice role on the series Spawn.

His movie career began in the 1975 film Hard Times, other movie roles include Harry and Walter Go To New York (with David Proval and Burt Young), Blade Runner (with Edward James Olmos, Joseph Turkel and James Hong), 48 Hrs. (with Olivia Brown, David Patrick Kelly, Sonny Landham and James Remar) and its' sequel, Another 48 Hrs., Nemesis (with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), Cabin Boy (with Chris Elliott), and his final role, in Phoenix Point (shot before his death but not released until 2005).

James died of a heart attack in Malibu, California on August 7, 1999, at the age of 54.
