"Body Talk" is a song by the The Deele, featured on the album Street Beat in 1984 and released as a single in January of that year. It appeared in the Miami Vice episode "Brother's Keeper".

Performers[]

  • Darnell "Dee" Bristol: Vocals
  • Stanley "Stick" Burke: Guitar, keyboards
  • Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds: Keyboards, guitar, vocals
  • Carlos "Satin" Greene: Vocals
  • Antonio "L.A." Reid: Drums
  • Kevin "Kayo" Roberson: Bass

Notes[]

  • "Body Talk" hit #4 on the Billboard R&B Chart.
  • "Babyface" Edmonds and "L.A." Reid would go on to found LaFace Records in 1989, launching the careers of such artists as Toni Braxton and TLC. Edmonds also produced hit albums for Boyz II Men and Whitney Houston, and wrote songs for Sheena Easton (Caitlin Davies), En Vogue, Mariah Carey, and many others (ironically, he did not write this song). Reid took the reigns of Arista Records (which LaFace was merged into in 2000) and signed a relative unknown named Avril Lavigne, who became a mega-star in the 2000s. He is now with Hitco Music Publishing.
