Bob Rickert (born 1958) was a low-level employee working for Sally Alvarado, serving as a guard at a warehouse where Alvarado stashed his product.

He was arrested by Crockett and Tubbs when they got a tip on the stash, but was let off in exchange for helping them bust his boss.

Biography[]

When Crockett and Tubbs got a tip about a supply of amphetamines from Noogie, they found Rickert guarding the warehouse allegedly containing the drugs. Being too green for his task, Rickert let the Vice cops bully their way inside, and when they found the stash of drugs, Crockett took him aside and dressed him down, drawing him a stark picture of the future he could expect in prison. Terrified by what he heard, Rickert named the supplier as Sally Alvarado, even giving out the man's home address so that the Vice cops could question him. Crockett promised that his name would not come up in connection to the case. At home, an anxious Rickert confessed his crimes to his wife, and spoke of his fear that Alvarado would find out what he had done, despite Crockett's promise.

Following Alvarado's arrest, Rickert discovered that not only had Crockett stayed true to his word, he had even gone to jail on a contempt citation for refusing to give up his name in court. Feeling guilt over the position he had inadvertently put the Vice cop in, Rickert went to see Alvarado's attorney, Richard Cain, revealing himself as the confidential informant to get Crockett released. Despite also retracting his statement, Alvarado planned to kill Rickert to ensure he did not talk to the police, but Crockett and Tubbs arrested the dealer before he could do any harm.
