"Big League" is a song by Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, featured on the album Victory Day in 1988 and released as a single that year. It appeared in the Miami Vice episode "Hard Knocks".
Notes[]
- The song references a young boy who planned to play "big league" hockey, but tragically dying before attending college on a hockey scholarship. The song has been featured on Canada's long-running hockey show Hockey Night in Canada.
- Cochrane and Red Rider performed the song at the 2008-09 Vancouver Canucks NHL season opener paying tribute to Luc Bourdon, who tragically died in a motorcycle crash in May 2008.
- "Big League" reached #9 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, but not the Hot 100.
