Benicio Monserrate Rafael del Toro Sánchez (born February 19, 1967. Santruce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actor known as Benicio del Toro, who appeared as Pito, an ex-con member of the Mi Vida Loca theatre group, in the episode "Everybody's in Showbiz" of the series Miami Vice.

Career[]

del Toro began his acting career appearing as an extra in the video for Madonna's single "La Isla Bonita" (as the boy sitting on the car), then moved into the small screen in the short-lived TV series Shell Game, followed by TV appearances in Tales From The Crypt and his most recent TV role, in the 2018 mini-series Escape at Dannemora (directed by Ben Stiller, and with Antoni Corone).

His movie career is more extensive, beginning with 1988's Big Top Pee-wee, followed by Licence To Kill (where, at 21, he became the youngest Bond Villain ever), Money For Nothing (with Michael Madsen), Fearless (with John Turturro), The Usual Suspects (with Suzy Amis, Giancarlo Esposito, and Dan Hedaya), The Fan (with Wesley Snipes, John Leguizamo, and Patti D'Arbanville), Joyride, Snatch (with Dennis Farina), Traffic (with Tomas Milian, for which del Toro won the 2000 Best Supporting Actor Academy Award), 21 Grams (with Melissa Leo, for which del Toro was nominated for his second Best Supporting Actor Academy Award), Sin City, Somewhere, Jimmy P. (with Larry Pine), Thor: The Dark World (uncredited), Guardians of the Galaxy (with Tomas Arana), Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, and Sicario: Day of the Soldado, The French Dispatch (with Larry Pine), and Reptile (with Eric Bogosian).

del Toro has one daughter, Delilah (born August 21, 2011) from a brief relationship with Kimberly Stewart, daughter of singer Rod Stewart.
