Anita Rose Morris (March 14, 1943 - March 2, 1994) was an American actress who appeared as Leona Proverb, wife to the Rev. Bill Bob Proverb in the episode "Amen... Send Money" of the series Miami Vice. She also performed the songs "Wrapped Up" and "Together As One" in the same episode.

Career[]

Morris began on Broadway, appearing in the plays The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Nine, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Her screen career began in 1972's The Broad Coalition, followed by The Happy Hooker (with Matthew Cowles, Absolute Beginners, Ruthless People, and her final movie role, in Radioland Murders (with Brion James).

Her TV career began with the TV movie Big Blonde, other appearances include the movie A Masterpiece of Murder (with Steven Keats), Cheers, Murder, She Wrote, Major Dad, and her final TV appearance, in the mini-series Trade Winds.

Personal Life[]

Morris married dancer/choreographer Grover Dale in 1973, they had a son, James Badge Dale (Rubicon, The Black Donnellys, born 1978). They remained married until her death after a long battle with ovarian cancer on March 2, 1994, in Los Angeles, California at the age of 50.
